With a spicy mix of Kilimanjaro black tea, cinnamon bark from the neighboring island of Zanzibar, and a hint of cardamom, this morning tea is the perfect pick me up, available in biodegradable pyramid bags. From the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania comes Kazi Yetu tea, an independent tea company that focuses on locally sourced ingredients that exemplify the quality of east African agriculture. “Our Work” in Swahili, Kazi Yetu works to support jobs for women and local farmers.
Tea bags are made from corn starch and are fully compostable.
For optimal brewing:
Hot Tea: Steep 1 pyramid tea bag in a teapot of 0.5 liters in 100-degree (boiling) water. Brew for 2-3 minutes. Add a dash of milk for a spicy Zanzibar chai experience.
Cold Brew Tea: Steep 1 pyramid tea bag in a teapot of 0.5 liters in room temperature water. Brew at room temperature or in the fridge for 6-8 hours.
Why we love it:
This aromatic herbal blend works well as a solid black tea or a spicy chai.
